Brazil: Corn yield will rise by 40% in the current season

In their latest forecast, the analysts of Conab raised their estimates for corn yield in Brazil in the current season up to 92.8 mln. tonnes, by 39.5% more than the previous year

Areas under corn cultivation, first crop, will be by 3.4% larger than the previous year and average yield + 13.3%. As a result, the first crop will be by 17.1% more than the previous year.


The forecast for the second crop of corn in the country has been increased by 1 mln. tonnes to 62.6 mln. tonnes. Areas of the second crop increased by 181.3 thousand ha to 11.7 mln. ha or by + 10.8% over the previous year. The average yield will exceed that of the previous year by 38.8% and the total volume of the second corn crop in the country by 53.7% compared to last year.
