Corn crop in the South African Republic for the current year may entirely supply the stocks in the country and 3.5 mln. tonnes will remain for export, according to forecast of Grain SA.

Corn yield will grow to 14.54 mln. tonnes or by 87% compared to the previous year. The corn harvest will end in June.

On May 16th, 2017 the government of China carried out an auction for the sale of 2.97 mln. tonnes of corn from the state fund. 423,100 tonnes of the crop were actually sold at average price of 366.36 USD/mt.

On May 16th, 2017 Jordan cancelled an auction for the purchase of 100,000 tonnes of milling wheat of October-November shipment. A similar auction was announced for May 23rd, 2017.

According to the National Cereals and Produce Board of Kenya, NCPB, corn stocks in the country have dropped to 4,500 tonnes, which is the daily consumption.

In the past week, farmers in Argentina have harvested 18% of the areas under soybeans cultivation so harvest is completed on 2/3 of the areas. The result is 15% higher than last year. High yields will be the reason for increase of the harvest estimate, which is now 57.5 mln. tonnes.
