Algeria is the second largest buyer of Argentinean grain

8.056 mln. tonnes of grain have been exported from Argentina for the first quarter of 2017, which is by 18% less compared to the same period of the previous year.

Algeria is the second largest buyer of Argentinean grain after Brazil, according to Senasa.

Argentina exported 5.161 mln. tonnes of grain for the first quarter of 2017, which is 61% more than the previous year. 1.152 mln. tonnes of grain were exported to Brazil, 0.697 mln. tonnes to Algeria, 0.54 mln. tonnes to Vietnam.

Export of corn from Argentina reached 1.532 mln. tonnes (-72%). Major buyers are Algeria 0.552 mln. tonnes, Brazil 0.228 mln. tonnes and Vietnam 0.209 mln. tonnes.

Export of barley rose to 1.245 mln. tonnes (-43%), incl. for Saudi Arabia 0.584 mln. tonnes and Brazil 0.294 mln. tonnes.

For the period September - March 2016 - 2017, Argentina exported 1.47 mln. tonnes of soybeasn, which is 46.31% less than the previous season - 2.738 mln. tonnes.

China reduces the import to 1,189 mln. tonnes (2,203), Egypt to 66,000 tonnes (136,000), Iran to 0 tonnes (54,000), Pakistan to 0 tonnes (129,000), Russia to 26,000 tonnes (0).
