Forecast for grain crops in Europe is lowered
Strategie Grains lowers its forecast for grain crops in the EU for the current year due to dry and cold weather in April

Soft wheat yield in 2017 – 2018 will reach 142.7 mln. tonnes compared to April’s forecast of 143.8 mln. tonnes and 135.8 mln. tonnes last year, barley - 59.6 mln. tonnes (61.3 and 59.9), corn 60.1 mln. tonnes (60.4 and 59.8 tonnes).

The forecast for wheat import is raised by 0.4 mln. tonnes to 4.1 mln. tonnes, corn by 0.4 mln. tonnes to 13.6 mln. tonnes. The forecast for wheat export is lowered by 0.2 mln. tonnes to 26 mln. tonnes, given 23.4 mln. tonnes in the current season.
