Wheat sowing has already started in Argentina

In the second week of May the Argentinean farmers started the wheat sowing, according to Buenos Aires Grains Exchange.

The areas under wheat cultivation this year will be 5.5 mln. ha, which is by 7.8% more than the previous year. As of May 18th, 2017 sowing is completd on  2.8% of the planned areas.

Corn and soybean harvest in the country continues. As of May 18th, 2017 33.1% of the corn and 74.7% of the soybeans are harvested. 14.6 mln. tonnes of corn and 44.3 mln. tonnes of soybeasn were harvested. During the season, Argentina's corn yield is expected to reach 39 mln. tonnes (+ 30%) and soybeans - 57.5 mln. tonnes (+ 2.7%).
