Ethanol export from China dashed out by 1 000%

China increased sharply the ethanol export last month, while it reduced its import.

China, the second largest corn producer in the world, is increasing the processing of the crop. The government stimulates this process, as the goal is corn stocks in the country to be reduced.

In April, ethanol export from China reached 13,540 cubic meters, up by 18% compared to March 2017 and by 1,000% more than April 2016. Ethanol import during the month reached only 23 cubic meters.

China's ethanol main buyer is Saudi Arabia, with share of 66% of the total export in April.

In the first four months of the year, the Chinese market is the fastest growing market in the world. During the period, 42,701 cubic meters of ethanol were exported, which is more than the export for the whole 2016.
