A record corn yield is expected in the South African Republic

According to South Africa's Crop Estimates Committee, in the current year, 15.63 mln. tonnes of corn will be harvested - a record for the country
Last year, when rainfalls were at low level, the yield reached only 7.78 million tonnes, which was the lowest level for the last nine years. The record for the largest yields was set in 1981 and amounts to 14.66 million tonnes.
