Canada raises its forecast for wheat yield

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada raised its forecast for wheat yield in the country in 2017-2018 up to 29.5 mln. tonnesе

The production of soft wheat will reach 23.8 million tonnes, which is 1% less than in the current season. The decline is due to reduced yields that will be at the lowest level for the past 7 years. Wheat quality is expected to be good.

Wheat supply in the new season will increase by 1% due to high initial stocks.

The export potential of wheat also rises by 5% to 16.2 million tonnes.

Ending stocks remain at a high level, with no change from the current season to 4.5 million tonnes.

The production of hard wheat will be 5.7 million tonnes, given 7.762 million tonnes in the current season, export -  4.7 million tonnes (4.4) and ending stocks - 2.1 million tonnes (2.4).
