The new estimate is by 5% above the average yields for the past five years.
The decline was mainly due to Germany, whose yields were reduced by 150,000 tonnes to 4.99 million tonnes. Rainfalls in May improved the situation somewhere, but in the northwest regions of the country there is severe shortage of moisture.
The estimated rapeseed yield in France remains unchanged at 4.6 million tonnes due to the rainfalls.
Due to larger areas under rapeseed cultivation in Poland, Romania, the UK and Hungary, the yield estimates there are increased.
