In 2017 – 2018 sunflower global production will go down by 1.4 mln.tonnes

According to Oil World preliminary estimates sunflower global production in 2017 – 2018 will go down to 46.82 mln.tonnes at 48.22 mln. tonnes in the current season.

In the season the sunflower areas will decrease by 0.2 mln. ha to 26.5 mln. ha and the yield to 1.77 tonnes/ha (1.81), which is above the average level.

The total production of sunflower in Ukraine and Russia will go down by 1.7 mln.tonnes including Russia to 10.3 mln.tonnes (11.01) and Ukraine to 13.4 mln. tonnes (14.4).

Sunflower crops in EU will be 8.4 mln.tonnes (8.31) due to the growth  in Bulgaria and Romania. China's crop will reach 2.8 mln.tonnes (2.75), and in Turkey - 1.62 mln. tonnes (1.47).

The processing of sunflower in the world in 2017 – 2018 keeps high - 50.41 mln.tonnes (51.49), which is achieved at the expense of the significant initial stocks for the season - 3.59 mln. tonnes (3.27).
