Russia: In May 2017 the record 2.4 million tonnes of grain were exported

According to preliminary data, in May 2017, grain export from Russia reaches the record 2.4 million tonnes, incl. wheat 1.75 million tonnes

The result is by more than 600,000 tonnes over the May 2016 record of 1-77 million tonnes of grain, incl. 1.16 million tonnes of wheat.

During the month, the largest recipient of Russian grain was Egypt - 657,000 tonnes, followed by Turkey 147,000 tonnes, Tanzania 133,000 tonnes. From the beginning of the season, Turkey ranks second as customer for Russian grain with 5.6 million tonnes of production. First is Egypt - 6.8 million tonnes, and Bangladesh in third position - 1.9 million tonnes of grain.

According to Russagrotrans forecast, in June export of grain from Russia will be 1.5 million tonnes, incl. wheat 1 million tonnes. In June 2016, grain export was 912 000 tonnes, incl. wheat  - 705 000 tonnes.

Rusagrotrans estimates export of grain from Russia in the current season to 35.2 million tonnes.
