129.9 million tonnes of wheat were actually sold at an average price of 267.88 USD/mt.
At the auction carried out on June 6th 2017 by Jordan, there were no deals made for the purchase of 100 000 tonnes of milling wheat.
On June 4th 2017 Iraq carried out a tender for the purchase of at least 50,000 tonnes of wheat from Australia, Canada and the United States. The lowest price offered is 264.66 USD/mt, C&F for US wheat. 300,000 tonnes of US wheat were offered at price of 264.66 - 284.7 USD/mt, C&F, 50,000 tonnes of US wheat at 279.5 USD/mt, C&F and 50,000 tonnes of US or Canadian wheat at price of 415 USD/ mt, C&F.
Algeria announced a tender for the purchase of at least 50 000 tonnes of wheat of optional origin, for August shipment, i.e. new crop.
In 2017 wheat production in Turkey will grow by 6% and that of barley by 12%, according to forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the country. In May Turkey bought 147,000 tonmes of Russian grain, which is 6.2% of the total export. First among the buyers is Egypt with 657,000 tonnes (27.5%).
According to IKAR's forecast, during the current season the export of wheat from Russia will reach 27.2 million tonnes, while in the next one - 28 million tonnes. Major buyers of Russian wheat are Turkey, Egypt and Bangladesh.
Japan announced a tender for the purchase of 159,600 tonnes of wheat from the United States, Canada and Australia.
