In April 2017 barley export from France decreases to 464,000 tonnes, which is by 25% less than in April 2016 and by 43% less compared to March 2017 according to the French customs authorities.

Export to non-EU countries amounts to 207,700 tonnes (502,800 tonnes a month earlier). In April, the largest buyer of French barley was Saudi Arabia - 142,600 tonnes, as it was in March - 363,300 tonnes. In April 2016 there is no export to Saudi Arabia. The second largest buyer is Belgium with 121,800 tonnes of barley. In the first ten months of the current season, France exported 2.04 million tonnes of barley to non-EU countries, which is by 53% less than the same period of the previous season. In April, France exported 1.39 million tonnes of wheat, which is a monthly high for the current season. To  countries outside the EU, 709,570 tonnes of wheat were exported, which is twice as high as the previous month. The largest buyer of French wheat remains Algeria  -  217,000 tonnes, followed by Belgium - 187,000 tonnes, the Netherlands - 171,100 tonnes, Spain - 136,100 tonnes and Morocco - 128,400 tonnes. In April, for the first time in the season, there is export to Egypt - 126,000 tonnes.

In April, corn export from France dropped to 286,900 tonnes, down by 33% compared to the previous year. Major buyers were EU countries - Spain - 107,900 tonnes, Belgium - 49,200 tonnes and the Netherlands - 38,300 tonnes. According to Frenchagrimer forecast, 4.649 million tonnes of corn will be exported from France for the current season, including. EU countries - 4.375 million tonnes. Export will be 25% lower than the previous year.

During the week May 30th - June 5th 2017 the state of the winter grain crops in France is stabilizing but remains below the usual level. In good and excellent condition are 75% of the winter soft wheat given 79% a year earlier, winter barley - 66% (76%). The condition of spring barley is worsening slightly and that of corn is improving.
