Areas under corn cultivation are expanded to 1.77 million hectares, which will allow 2 million tonnes to be harvested. The wheat crop will reach 280 000 tonnes given an average of 60 000 tonnes over the last three years.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary forecasts that the average wheat yield in the country will reach 5 mt/ha in the new season, which is below the last year’s figure. Areas under wheat cultivation, 2017 crop amount to 950,000 hectares and the yield will reach 4.75 million tonnes. In 2016 the wheat crop was 5.6 million tonnes.
As of June 1st 2017 in Argentina, 86% of the areas under soybean cultivation are harvested given a 6% growth only for the last week, according to the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange. A year earlier, the harvested areas amounted to 79% of the total soybean areas. In the new season, the soybean crop will reach 57.5 million tonnes at an average yield of 3.44 mt/ha.
