Brazil: record corn yield

Second crop corn harvest in Brazil is moving on slowly due to rainfalls

Yield from already harvested areas is record high, according to Safras & Mercado.

As of June 16th 2017 farmers have harvested 5.4% of the corn areas, which is 10.947 million hectares. By the same date, 82% of the areas were harvested in 2016 (11,319).

The plenty of moisture slows down the harvest of the crop, but it has a good impact on yields.

Soybean export from Brazil is slowing down slightly in the first half of June. This, however, does not prevent the country from exporting record quantities of soybean for a third consecutive month. From the beginning of the month, 4.86 million tonnes of soybean have been exported, given 10.96 million tonnes for May. For June, export is expected to be about 10 million tonnes.
