Algeria purchased 420,000 tonnes of milling wheat of optional origin at price of 215 USD/mt, C&F. Most of the grain will be delivered from France and Argentina.
Japan has purchased 91,660 tonnes of wheat from the United States for shipment from August 21st until September 20th, 2017.
The Philippines announced a tender for the purchase of 250,000 tonnes of rice for August - September shipment. The usual suppliers are Vietnam and Thailand.
According to FAS USDA forecast, in 2017 - 2018, the soybean crop in Argentina will drop to 54 million tonnes given 55 million tonnes in the current season. Areas under cultivation will be 19.3 million hectares (19.2). Export of soybeans will drop by 6% to 9.5 million tonnes. Traditionally, 90% of the soybeans are exported to China.
