Brazil: corn export in July - December 2017will be at record high

According to Oil World, in July 2017 corn export will increase as trend will remain in tact for the upcoming months

During the period July - December 2017, corn export will reach 26.5 million tonnes, substantially exceeding the previous year's figure of 9.61 million tonnes and 3.21 million tonnes for the first half of 2017.

Growth in the two key crops - corn and soybeans in 2017 is 27.3 million tonnes for the corn and 18.5 million tonnes for the soybeans. Now large volumes of these crops are stored outdoors. In the coming months, an intensified export of corn is expected, which will be a strong competition of the US export. At the same time, export of soybeans, which in July will drop to 7 million tonnes from 9.2 million tonnes in June, will be limited, incl. to China 6.58 million tonnes (5.79), Thailand 355,000 tonnes (140,000), the EU 0.9 million tonnes (1.04), Iran and Pakistan.

Soybean oil export reached 179,000 tonnes (172,000) as key buyers are India and China.

Soybean processing in Brazil is not at a sufficiently high level and soybean export is down to 1.39 million tonnes (1.56), incl.  South Korea 176,000 tonnes (1.56) and Thailand 204,000 tonnes (152,000).
