In 2017 – 2018 Indonesia will export a record quanitites of palm oil

According to forecast of the USDA's attache in Indonesia, in 2017 – 2018 palm oil export from the country will reach the record 26.5 million tonnes, by 1 million tonnes more then the official forecast of USDA.

The previous record was set in 2014-2015 - 25.9 million tonnes.

The result will be achieved thanks to rising production, increased global demand and rising price differentials for soybeans and palm oil.

During the first five months of 2017, Indonesia increased palm oil export by 29% compared to the previous year. Shipments to India increase the most - up to 818,000 tonnes.

It is expected that the country's crop will reach the record 36.5 million tonnes.
