USDA lowered the global corn production in 2017 – 2018

According to USDA latest forecast, in 2017 – 2018 global corn production will reach 1.033 billion tonnes at 1.036 billion tonnes in 2016 – 2017.

In particular, corn crop is lowered for Canada to 13.9 million tonnes (14.4 and 13.2), in the US to 60.01 million tonnes (61.6 and 61.14) and in Serbia to 6.6 million tonnes (7.0 and 7.6). Corn crop is raised for Russia by 0.5 million tonnes to 16.5 million tonnes (15.3).

 

Global export of corn is increased by 2 million tonnes to 152.2 million tonnes, which is 7.48 million tonnes more than 2016-2017. Brazil has a growth of 35 million tonnes (33.5 and 21), Russia 6.5 million tonnes (6 and 5.5), South Africa 1.9 million tonnes (1.7 and 2) and Ukraine 21.5 million tonnes (20.5 and 21.5). There is a drop in the indicator for the US 47 million tonnes (47.5 and 55).

 

Global corn consumption has been reduced by 2.3 million tonnes to 1.061 billion tonnes at 1,055 billion tonnes in 2016-2017.

 

The ending stocks of corn remain stable against the previous estimate of 200.8 million tonnes (228.6).

 

Harvest of rough grain crops will grow by 2.29 million tonnes to 1.316 billion tonnes.
