5.9 million hectares under barley cultivation were harvested(73.9% and 7.0), 17.5 million tonnes of barley (17.0) were harvested at an average yield of 2.94 mt / ha (2.42).

52,000 hectares under corn cultivation were harvested (1.7% and 29,400), 256,400 tonnes of corn are harvested (145,100) at an average yield of 4.93 mt / ha (4.94).

According to data from Transgender, in August 2017, from Novorossiysk port 1,615 million tonnes of Russian and Kazakh grains were exported, which is almost 65% more than in July 2017. and 48% more than in August 2017. This is a new historical record. 1.46 million tonnes of wheat and 155.168 tonnes of barley were exported. Wheat export is 200% larger than July and almost 150% more than in August 2016. The major grain customer is Egypt with a share of 42% of the total export, followed by Nigeria 6.5% and Tanzania 6.3%. Barley export declined by 21% compared to July. The major customer is Saudi Arabia 82%, followed by Qatar and Libya.
