Authorities are trying to fill the wheat deficit in the country after stopping import by private companies. Plans are for import of 7 million tonnes of wheat in 2017-2018, at 6 million tonnes in 2016-2017.
According to the Soybean & Corn Advisor, soybean sowing in Brazil should start on September 10, 2017. Farmers are likely to expand crops by 2.5% over the previous year to 34.7 million hectares (33.9). It is estimated that the soybean crop in 2017 - 2018 will reach 109 million tonnes at 114 million tonnes in 2016-2017.
According to Oil World, the first results of Canada's harvesting campaign show low yields. Analysts predict an increase in ending palm oil stocks for the season of 2 million tonnes due to large production.
