In 2020 China will import 20 million tonnes of corn
According to Shanghai JC Intelligence Co, in 2020 China will raise corn import to 20 million tonnes

The forecast is significantly above USDA's expectations, suggesting an import of 3.8 million tonnes in 2019-2020.

Now China is implementing the E10 programme - consumtion of gasoline blended with 10% ethanol. With the full implementation of the programme, China will consume annually 15 million tonnes of ethanol, which will be produced from 45 million tonnes of corn.

In the current season domestic corn consumption will reach 221.97 million tonnes (+ 8.4%). Of this, 73 million tonnes of corn are used for industrial processing, including ethanol.
