As of September 1, 2017 sunflower stocks in Ukraine amounted to 672,000 tonnes. In 2016 crop was at record high – 13.63 million tonnes, and in 2015 – 11.18 million tonnes.

In August, 2.4 million tonnes of wheat were exported from Ukraine, which is 21% less than in August 2016. For the key export market - Egypt, export grew by 39% in the first two months of 2017-208. 65,500 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat were exported to this country. Other major customers were Indonesia, South Korea, Bangladesh and India.

 

Algeria will hold an auction for the purchase of at least 50,000 tonnes of wheat of optional origin and December shipment.

 

In August, canola processing in Canada amounted to 629,000 tonnes at 665,000 tonnes in August 2016. The processing is expected to reach 725,000 tonnes (779,000) in September. In August, canola export declined by 0.2 - 0.3 million tonnes to 1.13 million tonnes over the previous year. In September, export is expected to remain unchanged. For the whole 2017 - 2018 canola processing in Canada will be 9.1 million tonnes (9.2) and export - 10.2 million tonnes (11.1).

 

According to Oil World latest report, strong rainfall over the last two weeks in the central parts of India greatly improved the condition of the crops after prolonged drought. From June 1, 2017. so far the rainfall is 20-27% below the norm. In its first forecast, the Indian Ministry of Agriculture predicts that the soybean crop will reach 12.2 million tonnes, compared to 13.8 million tonnes in the previous season. Areas under soybean cultivation are 8% lower than last year, and yields will not be high.
