Wheat

- According to USDA's October report, wheat crop in Ukraine in the new season, will reach 26.5 million tonnes, consumption 10 million tonnes, export 16.5 million tonnes and ending stocks 1.81 million tonnes.

- According to USDA's October report, wheat crop in Kazakhstan in the new season, will reach 14 million tonnes, consumption 6.9 million tonnes, export 7.5 million tonnes and ending stocks 3.61 million tonnes.

- On 12.10.2017. Tunisia purchased 75,000 tonnes of hard wheat at price of 285 USD / mt, 50,000 tonnes of soft wheat at price of 208 USD / mt, 50,000 tonnes of feed barley at price of 209 USD / mt. All prices are C & F.

- For the first time in history, in December, Argentina will deliver 30,000 tonnes of wheat to Mexico.

Grain

- In September 2017, 317,550 tonnes of corn were exported from Russia,  + 260% more than August, but 22% less than September 2016. The major buyer is South Korea with a share of 29.5%, followed by Turkey 24.3% and Iran 13.3%.

- In 2017. grain crop in Algeria is 3.5 million tonnes at 3.4 million tonnes in 2016. Grain import in the new season will reach 13.32 million tonnes. Wheat crop in the country was 2 million tonnes, that of barley 1 million tonnes.

- German company Bayer AG will sell its plant division to BASF for 5.9 billion euros. The sale is in connection with the fulfillment of the terms of the Bayer deal with Monsanto.

- According to the Czech Statistical Office, in 2017, grain crop in the Czech Republic is 6.74 million tonnes at 7.73 million tonnes in 2016. Areas under cultivation decrease by 1.2 million hectares.

- As of 12.10.2017, in Ukraine, 5.724 million hectares or 79% of the planned areas are sown with winter grain crops.  5.111 million hectares (83%) are sown with winter wheat, with winter barley 477,000 hectares (52%), with rye 161,000 hectares (84%), with winter rapeseed, 820,000 hectares (106%).

- As of 12.10.2017. in Ukraine, 1,546 million hectares under corn cultivation are harvested  (34%). 6.688 million tonnes of corn were harvested at an average yield of 4.33 mt/ ha. With these results, total corn crop in Ukraine will reach 19 million tonnes.

Oil crops and vegetable oils

- Oil World forecasts decline in the global sunflower crop in 2017 - 2018 by 1.2 million tonnes compared to 2016 - 2017,  to 48.4 million tonnes. Crop in Ukraine was lowered by 0.2 million tonnes compared to the previous estimate, down to 13.4 million tonnes and in Russia by 0.5 million tonnes, down  to 11.3 million tonnes. Crop in the EU will be 8.7 million tonnes at 8.5 million tonnes in 2016 and 3.8 million tonnes in Argentina (3.8). A record sunflower crop is expected in Turkey - 1.7 million tonnes (1.5).

- During the period August - September 2017 - 2018, 34,300 tonnes of rapeseed were exported from Russia, + 240% more than the previous year - 14,400 tonnes. The major rapeseed buyer for that period is Mongolia with a share of 27%.

- As of 12.10.2017 harvest of sunflower in Ukraine is completed on 5.016 million hectares (84%). 9.737 million tonnes are harvested at average yield of 1.94 mt/ha. Given the results, total sunflower crop in Ukraine will reach 11.4 million tonnes.
