Grain Highlights 31.12.2020

On Dec 29, 2020, the employers and the union of the employees in the oil factories in Argentina signed an agreement for the restoration of the work on sites, increase in salaries and others.

- For the period of July-Dec 2020, 30.2 million tons of grain were exported from Russia, which is a record achievement. The exported wheat is 25.4 million tons.

Exports amounted to 4.4 million tons in December. These included:

  • wheat- 3.75 million tons
  • barley- 0.4 million tons
  • corn- 0.25 million tons 

In the second half of the month, exports decreased notably. Grain exports of 2.9 million tons are expected in January, including wheat exports of 2.4 million tons. For February, exports will be in the range of 2.4 - 2.6 million tons, incl. wheat exports of 2.4 million tons. The data are from Rusagrotrans. Wheat exports from Russia are expected to reach 36 million tons and total grain exports are predicted at 45 million tons for 2020/2021.

- During the period of Dec 1-18, exports of corn from Brazil reached 4.131 million tons (84.35% of the November figure). 299,474 tons of corn were exported daily, which is 15.71% more than in December 2019.

- Jordan has canceled a tender for the import of 120,000 tons of feed barley and postponed it to 05.01.2021.
