USDA lowered its estimates for the 2020/21 wheat production

Analysts from the USDA lowered their forecast for the global wheat production in 2020/21 to 772.6 million tons (773.6 million tons in December and 763.9 million tons in 2019/20).

The wheat production around the world will reach:

  • Argentina- 17.5 million tons (18 and 19.7)
  • China- 134.2 million tons (136 and 133.6)
  • Russia- 85.3 million tons (84 and 73.6)

World wheat exports will be 192.4 million tons (192.1 and 191.3), including:

  • Argentina- 12 million tons (12.5 and 13.6)
  • Russia- 39 million tons (40 and 34.4)
  • Canada- 26.5 million tons (26 and 23.5)
  • EU- 26.5 million tons (26 and 38.4)
  • India- 1.8 million tons (1 and 0.5)

The ending stocks of wheat were reduced to 313.2 million tons (316.5 and 300), including:

  • Australia- 5.4 million tons (6.4 and 2.9)
  • China- 158.9 million tons (161.1 and 151.6)
  • EU- 11 million tons (11.6 and 14.3)
  • United States- 22.7 million tons (23.4 and 27.9)
  • Russia- 12.5 million tons 10.7 and 7.2)
