- Over the week of June 21-27, rapeseed imports into the EU reached 131,900 tons compared to 65,800 tons a week earlier. The buyers were the Netherlands with 56,480 tons, Spain with 49,500 tons, Italy with 22,100 tons and Portugal with 21,000 tons. Soybean imports were 153,400 tons (300,700) and sunseed imports reached 3,600 tons (4,600). Since the beginning of the season, imports of soybeans add up to a total of 15 million tons (-1%), rapeseed imports totaled 6.3 million tons (+5%) and sunseed imports reached 872,000 tons (-17%).
- Over the previous week, the condition of spring wheat in the United States has been deteriorating. 20% of the spring wheat crops (-7%) and 48% of the winter wheat crops (-1%) are in good and excellent condition. As of June 27, 2021, 33% of the crops have been harvested.
- Tunisia has announced a tender for the purchase of 100,000 tons of soft wheat and 100,000 tons of barley with delivery within July - August.
- The authorities in Egypt have bought 3.6 million tons of wheat from the domestic market in the new season with a planned 3.9 million tons. 3.5 million tons are already in warehouses and 165,000 tons are in processors.
- Hot and dry weather raises the prices of canola in Canada and the wheat price in the United States. High temperatures in Canada and the northern United States and the lack of rainfall reduce the potential for canola and wheat yields.
