- According to APC-Inform, 1.38 million tons of soybeans were exported from Russia in 202/21, which is 4% more than in 2019/20 - 1.32 million tons. 1.08 million tons of soybeans (+38%) were exported to China.
- According to APC-Inform, 1.13 million tons of oilseeds and products from their processing were exported from Ukraine in September compared to 1.09 million tons in August. The export of sunseed oil reached 230,000 tons (+24.8%), sunseed meal exports reached 49,200 tons (+6.4%), rapeseed exports were 850,000 tons (-0.7%) and rapeseed oil exports reached 60,300 tons (+780%). The largest customers were the Netherlands with a total of 371,600 tons, Pakistan with 127,200 tons and Germany with 83,600 tons.
- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 1,000 corn contracts and 500 wheat contracts and net buyers of 4,500 soybean contracts.
- According to the General Administration of Customs of China, the country imported 3.5 million tons of corn in September, which is 3 times more than in September 2020. Barley imports were 1.5 million tons (+12%), wheat imports reached 640,000 tons (-40%) and sorghum imports were 650,000 tons (+14%). From the beginning of 2021, imports of corn totaled 24.9 million tons (+275%), total barley imports add up to 8.6 million tons (+12%), wheat imports totaled 7.6 million tons (+25%) and total sorghum imports reach 7.4 million tons (+110%).
- In September, the supply of Brazilian soybeans to China was 5.9 million tons, while back in September 2020 it reached 7.25 million tons. Imports from the United States were 169,400 tons (1.17 million tons). Lower imports are also expected in October 2021 compared to October 2020.
- The authorities in India reduce the base import tax for unrefined soybean, palm and sunseed oils to 0% valid until 31.03.2022. The total tax for palm oil will reach 8.25% and 5.5% for sunseed and soybean oils. The total tax on refined palm oil will be 19.25%.
- According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Japan, the share of corn used in feed in Japan reached 46.9% in August, 47.2% in July and 49.8% in August 2020. Over the month, grain imports in the country reached 1.92 million tons (1.95 and 1.86).
- Tunisia has announced a tender for the purchase of 235,000 tons of feed barley with delivery in December. The country has not made such a large order in the past. Usually the one-time purchased quantities are about 100,000 tons.
