According to data from the European Commission, as of January 23, 2022, 15.62 million tons of wheat were exported from the EU (15.04 years earlier and 17.21 in 219/20).

- According to APC-Inform, 528,600 tons of oilseeds and products from their processing were exported from Russian ports in December (564,000 in November 2021). The export of sunseed oil reached 287,100 tons (-2,200) and sunseed meal exports were 91,400 tons (+140%). The largest customers were Turkey with 171,400 tons, followed by Egypt with 62,000 tons and India with 54,000 tons.

The largest exporters were Romania with 4.33 million tons followed by France with 4.15 million tons, Germany with 1.96 million tons, Bulgaria with 1.66 million tons, Latvia with 1.06 million tons and Lithuania with 1.01 million tons. Exports of barley were 4.91 million tons (4.33) and corn exports were 3.28 million tons (1.34).

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 5,000 corn contracts, 2,500 soybean contracts and 9,000 wheat contracts.

- India is likely to increase purchases of sunseed oil from Argentina and Russia given the instability in Ukraine. Ukraine and Russia together account for 80% of India's sunseed oil imports. In 2020/21, sunseed oil deliveries reached 1.89 million tons, with Ukraine accounting for 74% of total imports and Russia and Argentina for 12%.

- The South Korean company NOFI has announced a tender for the purchase of 207,000 tons of corn and 195,000 tons of feed wheat with delivery within March - April.
