Grain Highlights 29.06.2022

Over the period of June 1 - 26, 1.64 million tons of cereals and oilseeds were exported from Ukraine. Sunseed exports were 460,000 tons compared to 350,000 tons in May.

By the end of June, exports will reach 500,000 tons, and over the period of January - June they totaled 1 million tons (41,000). In June, exports of soybeans will reach 70,000 tons, and rapeseed exports are expected at 10,000 tons.

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 11,000 corn contracts, 13,000 soybean contracts and 10,500 wheat contracts.

- According to Oil World's forecast, the sunseed production in Argentina could reach a record 4.2 - 4.5 million tons in 2023, which will be the highest level for the last 15 years and well above the average five-year level of 3.2 million tons.

- The World Bank will lend $130 million to Tunisia to buy wheat.

- Last week, Algeria bought 740,000 tons of milled wheat with delivery within July - August. The average price of the purchases is 445 USD/ton C&F. The main sellers were the EU, South America and Australia.

- According to government data, Egypt will import 10 million tons of wheat in the next 6 months. The country's current stocks will be sufficient for the next six months, and the government has bought 3.9 million tons of wheat from local farmers.

- Jordan has purchased 60,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin with delivery in September and priced at USD 445/ton C&F.
