- From the beginning of the season to 12.10.2022, 10,249 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine (15,945 a year earlier), including 1,557 million tons in October (1,581). The export of wheat reached 3,749 million tons (10,202), barley exports were 877,000 tons (3,973) and corn exports totaled 5,586 million tons (1,537).
- According to data from FranceAgriMer, the export of soft wheat from France to countries outside the EU will reach 10.1 million tons in 2022/23 (+0.1 compared to the previous estimate and +15% compared to the previous season). Exports to EU countries will be 7.07 million tons (-12%). In 2022/23, the French wheat production is 33.7 million tons (-5%), and ending wheat stocks are projected at reach 2.13 million tons (-23%). The export of durum wheat to EU countries will be 0.77 million tons (-22%), and exports outside the EU is estimated at 0.11 million tons (+17%). The export of corn will be 3.4 million tons (-38%), including 0.36 million tons for non-EU countries (-39%).
- Over the week of October 3-9, 407,000 tons of wheat were exported from the EU (201,000 a week earlier). Since the beginning of the season, exports reached 9.8 million tons (10.02 a year earlier). Main exporters during the period were France with 3.6 million tons, Romania with 1.4 million tons and Germany with 1.1 million tons. Main customers were Algeria with 1.3 million tons (-17% compared to the previous year), Morocco with 1.1 million tons, Egypt with 925,000 tons (-2%), Nigeria with 796,000 tons (+49%) and Pakistan with 489,000 tons (+85%) .
- Yesterday, Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 500 contracts of corn and 6,000 contracts of wheat and net buyers of 8,000 contracts of soybeans.
- According to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australia exported 495,600 tons of feed barley in August (497,900 in July), mainly to Taiwan (322,600 tons), Qatar (52,500 tons) and New Zealand (16,000 tons). The export of sorghum was 251,400 tons (+13%), including 241,000 tons for China. The export of malting barley was 106,500 tons (93,000), including 61,900 tons for Mexico (30,000), 16,000 tons for New Zealand and 13,200 tons for Peru (15,900).
- Egypt's state company GASC will sell wheat to private mills that do not produce subsidized bread. These mills produce 72% of the country's flour. The sales will take place for a month and the aim is to stabilize the prices of flour and bread.
