In their March report, IGC analysts forecast a 2023/24 grain production in Russia of 124.3 million tons (138.2 in 2022/23). Grain exports will be 51 million tons (51.8).

- In their March report, IGC analysts forecast a 2023/24 grain production in Russia of 124.3 million tons (138.2 in 2022/23). Grain exports will be 51 million tons (51.8). The wheat production is projected to reach 82.2 million tons (95.4), and wheat exports are estimated at 42.2 million tons (43.6).

- Over the period 01.01 – 19.03.2023, 51,700 tons of sunseed oil were exported from the Russian port of Novorossiysk, including 25,200 tons for India, 20,300 tons for Egypt and 6,300 tons for Turkey (116,000 tons a year earlier, including 65,000 tons for India).

- On Friday, Chicago commodity funds were net buyers of 1,000 contracts of corn and 4,500 contracts of wheat and net sellers of 6,000 contracts of soybeans.

- The Brazilian government has approved a mandate for biodiesel in the country from 01.04.2023 by B12 under the current mandate B10. In April 2024 the mandate will be B13, in April 2025 – B14, in April 2026 – B15. In the next 12 months, soyoil consumption for biodiesel production is expected to increase by 720,000 – 800,000 tons.

- According to CNGOIC data, in the week ending on 16/03/2023, soybean processing in China reached 1.45 million tons (-1% compared to last week, -30% compared to a month earlier and +1% compared to the previous year). Soybean stocks in China were 3.5 million tons (-5% for the week), soymeal stocks were 570,000 tons (-11% and +84%) and soyoil stocks were 63,000 tons (unchanged and -14%).

- According to an assessment of the customs service of China, the deliveries of corn in the country were 3.1 million tons in February (+41% compared to January). Over the period of January - February, imports reached 5.3 million tons (+14%). Wheat imports in February were 1.5 million tons, and since the beginning of the year they totalled 3 million tons (+38%). Barley imports reached 460,000 tons or a total of 960,000 tons since the start of the year (-18%). Sorghum imports were 120,000 tons and total sorghum imports reached 330,000 tons (-79 %).
