According to the assessment of the Egyptian government, deliveries of Russian wheat to the country reached 7.5 million tons in 2023, compared to 5.4 million tons five years earlier.

In the Stavropol region of Russia, 98% of the winter crops have been sown. The condition of the crops is good and is above the average level for many years ago.

As of January 1, 2024, wheat stocks in Kazakhstan were 11.6 million tons, including milling wheat stocks of 8.5 million tons and feed wheat stocks of 2.2 million tons. The total grain stocks were 14.5 million tons.

The European Commission predicts ending stocks of soft wheat in the EU for 2023/24 at 19.1 million tons (18.4 in the December estimate and 19.4 in 2022/23). The soft wheat production is expected at 125.9 million tons (+0.2 from 125.8), imports are projected at 7 million tons (0.5 and 9.6), and consumption is estimated at 31 million tons (31 and 32.7). Barley production will reach 47.4 million tons (+0.1), which is a minimum level for the last 12 years. Corn production is projected at 61.4 million tons, corn imports are expected at 19 million tons, and corn exports will reach 4.5 million tons (-0.3).

According to Safras&Mercado data as of January 26, 2024, 15.3% of soybean areas have been harvested in Brazil (12.1% the previous year and 10.2% on average for the last five years).

South Korea is seeking to purchase 100,000 tons of milling wheat from the United States or Australia with delivery within April-May.

According to the FAS USDA forecast for 2023/24, the corn production in South Africa will be 15.8 million tons (17 in 2022/23), and corn exports will be 3 million tons (3.8).
