Ethanol import in China decreased by one third in December

Ethanol import in China reached 124,823 cubic metres in December, which is 31% lower than December 2015. The decrease is due to the increase in domestic production following the drop in corn prices on the domestic market.

During 2016 ethanol import in China reached 890,170 cubic metres (+29,6% in 2015). The government is now expected to increase the import duty form 5% to 30% to boost domestic production.

DDGS import in China decreased by 83,3% in December down to 69,967 tons, while annual import dropped by 55% down to 3,07 mln tons.
