In the current season, sunflower harvest in Bulgaria is 1.701 mln tons, which is 0.5% lower than the previous season, UkrAgroConsult say.

The trend from 2015 - 2016 for an increase in sunflower processing in the country is still on. Processing of this culture in Bulgaria will be over 800,000 tons in 2016 - 2017, which is a share of 42% of the harvest (39%).

In 2017 - 2018, sunflower areas in the country are expected to be at least as big as the current year.
