On February 10, 2017 the South Korean company NOFI bought 210,000 tons of corn and 67,000 tons of wheat fodder of random origin and delivery in May and June.

3.7 mln tons of wheat were processed in Great Britain in the second half of 2016, which was 10% more than the corresponding period of 2015. 3.2 mln tons of British wheat (2.8) was processed. 7.9 mln tons (+7%) was the full amount of wheat processed in the country during the whole season.

In its February forecast, USDA increased its estimate on wheat export from Ukraine by +1.5 mln tons compared with the January forecast up to 40.4 mln tons. Wheat export grew by 0.4 mln tons to 16.5 mln tons while corn export grew by 0.7 mln tons to 18.7 mln tons. Season-long grain yield is estimated at 66 mln tons (+1.4% compared with January) mainly due to a 1-mln-ton corn yield growth to 28 mln tons. Sunflower oil production grew by 1.9% to 5.76 mln tons on a season-long basis.Export grew by +2% to 5.1 mln tons while sunflower yield is estimated at 13.75 mln tons. Sunflower meal production will be 5.49 mln tons with 4.8 mln tons exported.

Green Plains predicts that record 1.1 billion gallons of ethanol will be exported from the USA in 2017. The record will be set despite China being absent from the market. Domestic ethanol consumption is high too.

Official Chinese statistics statement reads that 7.66 mln tons of soybean were imported in China in January 2017, which is 35% more than the previous month and is the maximum level since January 2010. Soybean import in the next few months is expected to be intense and bigger than the previous year.

FranceAgriMer projected 4.8 mln tons of soft wheat will be exported by France to non-EU countries in 2016 - 2017 compared with 4.7 mln tons in the January forecast. The index is 63% lower than last year.
