As of February 17, 2017, 23.4% of the summer corn yield in Brazil, covering an area of 47.55 mln decare, have been harvested.

23.3% of the areas were harvested last year – 39.02 mln decares. 49% of the total corn areas in Brazil have been sowed with safrinha, which makes 110.25 mln decares (versus 50.8% in 2016 – 113.19 mln decares).

18.847 mln tons of corn were exported from Brazil in 2016, which is 37.5% less than 2015, SAFRAS & Mercado reported. Brazil expects a record high corn yield of 87.4 mln tons in 2017.
