Over the next 3 or 5 years, Chinese authorities are planning to reduce corn stocks in the country down to acceptable levels. COFCO corporation is planning to process 10 mln tons of corn a year until 2020 versus 6 mln tons now. The total annual power of corn-processing companies in China will be 70 mln tons before 2018 versus 50 mln tons at the moment. The plans are for the majority of the consumption growth to be used for ethanol production. The current corn stocks in China are estimated at 250 mln tons, which is higher than the annual consumption.

Over the current season, wheat import in Bangladesh will grow to 5.7 mln tons, which is 21% more than the previous season according to an FAS USDA forecast. Over the new season, which will start in July, import will be 5.9 mln tons. The country is currently importing low-quality wheat from Russia and Ukraine and high-quality wheat from the USA and Canada.

Japan has bought 225,000 tons of barley fodder.

In March, soybean import in China reached 6.33 mln tons versus 5.54 mln tons in February and 6.1 mln tons in March 2016. In the first quarter of 2017, soybean import in China reached 19.52 mln tons, which was 20% more than the previous year. Over the month of March, oilseed oil import in China reached 450,000 tons (+9.8% versus the previous month and 13.5% less than last year).
