Export sales of US wheat are at expectations' low

Weekly export sales of US wheat during the period June 2nd - 8th are at analysts' expectations low (350,000 – 550,000 tonnes).

A reason is the increase of wheat prices due to news about the condition of spring wheat in the country. The attention of the buyers was directed at the hard wheat, whose harvest progresses.

During the week, export sales of wheat from the US amounted to 373,400 tonnes, which is by 6.9% more than the previous year.

The major buyers of wheat were Mexico - 121,400 tonnes, Nigeria - 56,600 tonnes, Taiwan - 53,900 tonnes, Colombia - 47,500 tonnes, Peru - 27,200 tonnes, Costa Rica - 16,500 tonnes, unknown buyer - 11,600 tonnes.

The major recipients of wheat were Yemen - 122,300 tonnes, Nigeria - 113,600 tonnes, South Korea - 60,500 tonnes, Taiwan - 54,000 tonnes and Guatemala  -39,300 tonnes.
