Malaysia: palm oil export rises by 17%

According to Oil World, in May 2017 palm oil export from Malaysia rises by 17% (+0.22 million tonnes) up to 1.51 million tonnes which is by 0.3 million tonnes more than in April.

The most significant growth in the export is for African countries - up to 277,000 tonnes (170,000 tonnes in May 2016). Kenya - 32,000 tonnes (11,000) and Tanzania 46,000 tonnes (5,000).

For Asian countries: China - 113,000 tonnes (106,000), Pakistan - 108,000 tonnes (77,000), Saudi Arabia - 28,000 tonnes (11,000), and Singapore - 41,000 tonnes (35,000). Deliveries to India are reduced by 274,000 tonnes (310,000).

For the EU - 169,000 tonnes of oil (119,000) were exported.

From January to May, 6.5 million tonnes of palm oil were exported from Malaysia (6.2).
