During the period July - September, India increases vegetable oil import

According to Oil World's forecast, in the last quarter vegetable oil import in India could be at record high for 2016 – 2017 by reaching 4.2 million tonnes (+0.4 million tonnes for a year).

The growth is due to the high global oil supply and the high supply of palm, soybean and sunflower oils.

Strong interest in the import of palm oil is expected due to lower stocks of the product in the country.

For the whole 2016 – 2017 import of vegetable oils in India will be 15.2 million tonnes (15), which will be at the level of the last year’s record.
