Canada: the forecast for the canola crop in 2017 - 2018 is lowered

According to Oil World's latest estimate, in 2017 – 2018 canola crop in Canada will fall to 19.8 million tonnes compared to previous forecast of 20 million tonnes.

Despite the decline, the result will be an all time record.

Areas under cultivation may be under 9.24 million tonnes due to drought and floods in different parts of the country. The crop is expected to fall by 0.2 - 0.4 million tonnes

The estimate was made considering areas under canola cultivation of 8.9 million hectares and an average yield of 2.22 mt / ha. With normalization of weather conditions in Canada, the estimate may be raised.
