USA: Spring wheat yield will be at 10 years low

Drought in the US will significantly decrease spring wheat yield , that will reach a 10 years low in 2017, according to field test of USDA specialists.

the United States in 2017 will be 38.1 bushels / acre at 45.7 bushels / acre in 2016, and at 46.8 bushels / acre over the past 5 years. Data are obtained from the states of Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.

In its July report, the USDA determined average yield for spring wheat in the US in 2017 - 40.3 bushels / acre.

Forecasts for hard wheat yields are for 39.7 bushels / acre at 45.4 bushels / acre last year.

According to estimates, up to 40-50% of the areas planted with wheat in North Dakota may be lost due to drought.
