Strategie Grains: In 2017 rapeseed crop in the EU increases by 8%
Strategie Grains raised their forecast for rapeseed crop in the EU in 2017-2018 by almost 800,000 tonnes, based on data for the harvest campaign.

Production increased mainly in France by 520,000 tonnes, Grate Britain 120,000 tonnes and Romania 120,000 tonnes.

In the new season, rapeseed crop in the EU will be 21.9 million tonnes, which is 8% more than 2016.

Global rapeseed crop increased by 1.3 million tonnes to 69 million tonnes, which is 1.5 million tonnes more than last year.

Yield of all oil crops in the EU will grow to 33.03 million tonnes from 32.06 million tonnes in the previous forecast.

The EU sunflower crop will be 8.5 million tonnes (+ 3% vs. 2016 - 2017) and of soybeans 2.62 million tonnes (+ 5.9%).

Areas under rapeseed cultivation in the EU are 6.65 million hectares at 6.6 million hectares in the previous forecast and + 2% over last year. Areas under soybean cultivation are 0.95 million hectares (+ 14.7%), and of sunflower 4.13 million hectares (+ 1.1%).

Rapeseed yield will be 3.3 mt/ ha (3.2 and + .59%), of sunflower 2.06 mt/ ha (2.03 and + 1.8%) and of soyeans 2.7 mt / ha (2.7 and -7.6%).
