Argentina lowers sharply export of soybeans, corn and sunflower, while it raises export of wheat

In June 2017 1.329 million tonnes of soybeans were exported from Argentina by 42% less than June 2016.

During the first 6 months of 2017, the country exported 3.585 million tonnes of soybeans, which is 23.2% less than the same period last year. In the first half of the year, China's major buyer of soybeans is China with 3.141 million tonnes of soybeans.

 

In June, 4,835,000 tonnes of sunflower were exported from Argentina, which is 86% less than June 2016. In the first six months of the year, 39.027 thousand tons of sunflower (-85.3%) were exported from the country. The major sunflower buyer in the half-year is the US - 6,718,000 tonnes.

 

In June 2017, Argentina exported 510,263 tonnes of wheat, which is 27% more than in June 2016. In the first half of the year, the country exported 7.846 million tonnes of wheat (+ 23.6%). Major buyers were Brazil 2.337 million tonnes, Algeria 944,793 tonnes, Vietnam 713,179 tonnes.

 

In June, 1.676 million tonnes of corn (-9.3%) were exported from Argentina. In the first half, export reached 6.584 million tonnes (-42%). The major buyers were Vietnam 1,555 million tonnes, Algeria 1,288 million tonnes, Egypt 709,444 tonnes and Malaysia 664,832 tonnes.
