Growth is achieved through larger oil deliveries from Ukraine and Russia.

Especially active was the import until May, when prices were lower due to the complicated relations between Russia and Turkey. During the period, import of Russian sunflower oil were 73,000 tonnes at 0 tonnes in 2016. Import from Ukraine reached 79,000 tonnes (12,000).

Major supplier of refined sunflower oil in Iraq is Turkey - 0.23 million tonnes (+ 7%).

During the period October - July 2016 – 2017 imported sunflower oil in Iraq was 0.51 million tonnes (+ 55%).
