Canada: Low canola stocks limit export

According to Reuters, at the beginning of August, canola stocks amounted to 1.5 million tonnes by 26% less than the previous year - a 4 years low.

According to COPA, in 2016, domestic consumption of canola and export were above market expectations, resulting in lower stocks.

Even when reporting a record crop in 2016, the supply of canola will be limited at high demand - both domestically and for export, incl. China.

An interest in Canadian canola is also expected on part of the United States, given the expected suspension of supplies of biodiesel from Argentina.
