Strategie Grains lowers its forecast for rapeseed and soybean crops in the EU
Strategie Grains published its September forecast for production of oil crops in the EU in 2017-2018.

In the season, the EU's rapeseed crop will be 21.65 million tonnes (+ 6.7% vs. 2016-2017), that of sunflower 8.68 million tonnes (+ 5.1%), soybean 2.58 million tonnes (+ 4.6%). Compared to the previous month, soybean and rapeseed crops are declining, and that of sunflower is rising.

Rapeseed areas grow from 6.65 million hectares to 6.69 million hectares (+ 2.6% over last season), under sunflower from 4.13 million hectares to 4.17 million hectares (+ 2.2%) and under soybean - no change from 0.97 million ha (+ 14.7%).

The rapeseed yield will decrease from 3.3 mt/ ha to 3.24 mt/ ha (+ 4.9%), soybean from 2.70 mt/ ha to 2.66 mt/ ha (-8.8%), and sunflower from 2.06 mt/ ha (+ 2.9%).
