In 2017 – 2018 Canada may hartvest the second biggest canola crop

According to Oil World, perspectives for the new canola crop are improving

In 2017 - 2018. the crop could reach 18.9 million tonnes, up 0.8 million tonnes from the previous forecast and 19.73 million tonnes more than the previous season. This will be the second largest result in history.

 

After the worst drought in the last 10 years, natural conditions have improved in recent weeks. As a result, 16% of the oil crops are harvested in the Saskatchewan province, and 26% in the whole country, 17% a year earlier.

At the same time experts say that oil crops stocks in the early 2017 - 2018 are at the lowest level for the past 3 years - 1.35 million tonnes. Supply of canola is also at the lowest level for the past three years. The export of canola from Karan in the new season will be 9.95 million tonnes at 10.3 million tonnes in 2015-2016.
