In 2017 – 2018 global sunflower production will decrease by 1 million tonnes

According Oil World, global sunflower production in 2017-2018 will decline by 0.9 million tonnes compared to 2016 – 2017 to 48.7 million tonnes.

This will be 5.9 million tonnes above the average five-year production level. Further growth of sunflower areas in the world is expected, which will partly compensate the decline in yields.

There will be a major reduction in crop in Ukraine to 13.8 million tonnes (15), less in the EU to 8.44 million tonnes (8.48) and the US to 0.8 million tonnes (1.2).

Sunflower crop in Russia will reach 11.6 million tonnes (11.5), Argentina 3.8 million tonnes (3.3), China 2.8 million tonnes (2.75), Turkey 1.65 million tonnes (1.47).

In the new season, sunflower supply in the world will be 52.3 million tonnes (52.9 million tonnes), processing 43.78 million tonnes (44.22), and ending stocks 3.54 million tonnes (3.69).
